My Collection
by Scott Gracia
There is a flea market every weekend by my house that sells throwing
knives. Mainly the smaller, lighter throwers. That is where the
majority of these came from. These were fine at first but now
I'd rather throw something with a little weight to it!
The top 3 knives with the white handles are called Bullseye Bowies
and they were made by Bobby Branton. The 3 red knives next to those are
made from lawn mower blades! On the bottom row the first knife shown on left
is made by Gil Hibben. The 3 knives with white handles (electrical tape)
were made by Lee Fugatt and all the other things are home made "jobbers"
that friends of mine surprised me with. And finally... that "giant thing"
all the way on the right is a jack hammer drill bit that weighs atleast
15 lbs. and is very throwable!!!
These are some prototypes of the 13.5" Dragon Knives that John Goss makes.
I got the above blades from Jeff Koch. Jeff has been making throwers since
1994. They range from 12" - 16" and they are ALL great knives!
Here's a bunch of Dragon Knives.
Here's a mix of Ugly Knives made by Lee Fugatt, and other throwers made by
Doc Gundersen of L&H Knife Works.
I got these knives from a chap in London named Roy Hutchison. Roy
can throw a half spin with these things over 30 feet! And he also throws
them with no spin up to about 17 feet! He's been throwing for over 40 years
and honing his technique. To learn more check out our ARTICLES section. There
are 2 large articles written by Roy about how he does this amazing thing!
These are called Javelins and they're made by Jeff Koch.
The top 4 knives were made by Joe "Brokenfeather" Darrah from Berwyn, PA.
All the other knives ("Diamond Heads" and "Blade Throwers") were made by
Jeff Koch of Waterloo, IA.
"The "Sport Sticker" (top knife) is made from 5160 steel. Jeff told me he went with
the curved handle to see if it would speed up the rotation and allow
a closer throw. Guess I will find out when I throw it! The Waterloo
Bowie (you guessed it, the bottom knife) is made from L6 steel which
is slightly thicker than 5160.
I have quite a few more pics to add to this page! They'll be up asap.
