I finally got the new target range put together! My good buddy Pete showed up on his day off and we had it all done with bullseyes painted on the logs after a few hours. My latest design is one that will last a while! I've got a backboard made out of 7 Pine 2X12's. They are screwed together from the back by 4 2X6's. One at the top, one at the bottom and two in the middle.
Its about 7 feet 6 inches tall and 7 feet wide... reminds me of a sail on a pirate ship! (Maybe I'll get a flag pole? :)
Since it was so heavy we had to use some angle iron braces coming off the back for some added "support" and we drilled those into the concrete so its not going anywhere! And ya just gotta love the color on that gutter! Whew :) The angle iron even doubles as a place to park our garbage cans so my girlfriend can't even complain... Life is Good!!!
If I back all the way up to our house, I have about 40 feet to throw from! Plenty of room for triple and quadruple spins!!! Now I just have to get something to cover the side of the garage before I end up skewering our new siding :) If you have any pictures you'd like to share, you can send them to: Scott Gracia It's free, and there's no obligation. |
