I have made an excellent outdoor target, (Its like a Lego :) Its very mobile and the price of this construction was less then 20 USD and two days of work.
The wood parts consist originally from 2 pieces of 4m long (13 feet) I dont know how to say it, you know, long and thin piece of wood, maybe "batten" or "panicle") cut to parts of 100 cm (3.28 feet)... Measures are 100x3x5 cm. or 3 feet X 1 inch X 2 inch's. Front part of target is made from 3 - 3 foot X 1 inch X 2 inch boards and 2 - 1.5 foot X 1 inch X 2 inch parts. The rear part of the target is made from 4 - 3 foot X 1 inch X 2 inch boards.
This wood costs about $3 USD for all of it. Then, there are some iron parts, like screws (costs about $1 USD), and 0,4 cm thin iron plates (4pcs cost $1USD/1pc) to fixate the panicles together. And then 2 pieces of hinge (cost about $1 USD together).
The work takes about 2 days total if you spend 4hrs each day on it. (To bore holes for screws and I also filed the 4m long panicles in the shop) Then put it all together.
And now I have a great portable target that I can break down or put together in 7-10 minutes with my electrical spanner :) If you have any pictures you'd like to share, you can send them to: Scott Gracia It's free, and there's no obligation. |
