From Scott Gracia ![]() The blade is engraved in 3 places. One side and also the top says "Custom Made For Scott Gracia, The Great Throwzini". The other side says "Brokenfeather Custom 2002". ![]() ![]() "I notched the tip of the Bo staff then put the blade in the notch approx 3 1/2 inches. I then drilled the center of the staff at about 1 inch and 2 3/4 inches from the top and put brass rod pin's through the staff and blade. Then using plenty of epoxy I wrapped synthetic sinew (waxed egyptian linen) tightly around the tip and ended it with more epoxy." ("I also peened over the edges of the brass rod a little but the rattan staff is pretty soft so you have to be careful.") - Joe Darrah ![]() Joe used a pencil torch to burn designs in the rattan. Its got racing stripes, bullseyes, and even a couple lightning bolts burned into it. And on the very end of the handle there is a nice starburst design carved into it! These pics don't do it justice at all. Its the type of thrower you take out of the box and you don't even want to throw it cause you might scratch it or get it dirty. It looks beautiful! (Great job on it Joe, thanks again buddy! :) ![]() Here I am throwing my new spear from about 22-23 feet. It sure is sweeet! :) ![]() After about 83 tries I finally "nicked" a bull!!! I always try to end throwing sessions on a good note... so I ended it :) If you want to contact Joe Darrah for more information about getting your own custom made spear, just click on his name to drop him an email: Joe Darrah It's free, and there's no obligation. |
